Interesting Facts.

During excavation, it was discovered there was contaminated soil on the property from a previous oil tank that had leaked for many years. This first needed to be remediated before building could continue. In collaboration with an environmental consulting company and following the protocol of the Department of Ecology, Heldridge Construction successfully remediated the soil and this house has been approved with a NFA  (No Further Action) needed distinction.

The TV is built directly into the cabinet so it is "tucked" away then lifts with a remote control mechanism.

The main floor is hardwood made of end grain hemlock.

There are 3 kinds of heating and cooling in the house. Radiant floor heat on the main floor and basement level, and A/C and forced air on the upper level..

The entire back wall slides open and pockets into the wall opening the home to an Ipe deck and concrete poured fire pit built in conjunction with the landscape plans.

The best part of the house is that it lives and flows even better than I could have imagined. The translation from paper plans to real life was so fun and interesting to see - the concrete, the pipes, the framing, the insulation, drywall, paint, stone, tile, all of it! I love how I feel in my house. It is my sanctuary from the world.
